I'm loving this, but I'm not sure how to get different endings...

To get the different character endings you just have to talk to the various characters a certain amount of times and sometimes select one of the options in a multi-choice popup. then at the end of the game after the credits the game will notify you if you've unlocked an ending.

The equation is: Ammo upon winning + NG References + non-boss things killed/destroyed (I don’t think Peter the ant counts) - damage taken.
